Math Game House Sessions

Changing the world, one step at a time…
I have an M. A. in C&TE (Curriculum Studies and Teacher Education) in Math and Science from Stanford University, CA. When I was there, it was an exciting period with new developments happening in the cognitive science. What I learned there and also through my own son’s early education in the famed Bing school became the progressive ingredient for MGH later. But at the same time, I believe that my own education in math back in Korea, which followed more traditional trajectory, complements the liberal, creativity-first approach. My educational philosophy is to open children’s mind to unchecked exploration while at the same time letting them acquire necessary skills through individually tailored program activities.

As MGH sessions are either one-to-one or in small groups, I can develop an open and trusting relationship with the students, and encourage them to think of me as their mentor rather than just someone hired by their demanding parents.

We founded Math Game House in 2000 and since then many MGH students and parents have found this approach quite effective!
